This block is still neat and offers so many ways to play with triangles and fabrics I’m just now seeing.
The piecing itself is fun. Some inset-seams aren’t bad.
I’ve improved my pressing.
I think its interesting the way I had to work with the iron and the fabric to get it to roll into the swirl center which gives you a flat block. It was difficult in places. I couldn’t get a picture of it but I have that fabric force-pressed into the center swirl just at the edge of the seam. That’s where my area to manipulate the fabric is at. I have a good .25″ to make this happen and it did. There is some bulk there but not so much to make me concerned.
That said, if I had the chance to start this all over I’d have black or double pink stars and scrappy blocks. I think that’s a better way to go. Now that I know that, now that I have a clearer vision, I might have just sucked the life right out of this project. Dang.
