A Modern and Vintage Morning

A little modern from a blog I visited called Craftingdotdotdot.blogspot  You can find this block if you click –> here. I just thought it was too cute and doesn’t it look fun to make?  I didn’t read her directions because, well, sometimes I’m like that. I don’t read directions. Besides, I’m working on this vintage piece…

It’s in the oven today, cooking. I like the fabrics in this one and I enjoy piecing it right now. I just can’t quite imagine how its going to turn out. Still, I thought I’d keep going. The inspiration came from a quilt I found on Pinterest. The image links back to Pieceful Kwilter. If you read you’ll note where she picked it up. You can visit her if you click—>  here to see the post. Her quilt dates to the 70′s. It screams 1970′s actually. Its very cool.

Now that we’re sliding into a new season, its time to get back to work on my ripple afghan for me the cats ( Speaking of…if you crochet and want to see something pretty take a look at this link from June 2011 –> Coco Rose Diaries ). I thought crochet could be a nice break today after I worked on laying out my Carpenters Wheel quilt most of the morning. That’s now in the oven, cooking.

We’re apparently doing a lot of cooking around here, ha?! What about you, you got anything in the oven? Be Quilting, *karendianne.

Wow..such different looking projects. It looks like you’re good at everything? ;)
Now..you made me look twice..the bottom right hexagon on the left grouping of hexes and triangles is turned wrong? I love how that one especially is growing…I really like the other one too..but the vintage looking ones always grab my heart.

Well, look at you switching gears! It is fun to work in a different palette, isn’t it? Your work is always so crisp and clean.

I had to double check to make sure I was reading your blog and not somebody else’s…….love that top block and I’m thinking it would be fun with my rather extensive collection of polka dot fabrics….saving it for AFTER the move.

Meanwhile, your triangles are looking great. Love the red in them.

You already know I dig the 2nd block. You did such a great job on that one! The first is cute and whimsical, although my mind prefers to have a couple less of the busy fabric designs within, I like it. Funny ha? That symmetrical thing is strong with me! I’d love to see you take that modern block on someday. The little twirlie things remind me of hurricanes. Do they have a proper shape name? ;-)

I love the block in the top photo, I’ll go visit in a second. Your red triangles are amazing, very delicious cooking at your place!

All of my projects are in a s-l-o-w oven! I love what you’re cooking up and that cute little modern block is absolutely wonderful, too; thanks for the link. Enjoy this week~

Some pretty eye candy today, and some interesting links to check out – thank you! I like your triangulated hexagons (or are they hexagonal triangles?) – they really say “Karen” to me.

I like the spinner, and thanks for the link, I enjoy seeing other’s versions of the same project. I tend to bee like you and figure stuff out on my own, it is a puzzle to figure out how pieces fit together. Admittedly, my stuff does not always work out, :-} pokey
