Setting Blocks

Hi friends! I’m home today. Thursday is my usual day to get out and be with my quilting friends but the heat is overwhelming my health. I still sneak out in the morning when I can. I talk to the plants, water and love on ‘em. My fig tree though, my fig tree needs to be moved to ICU.  It got cooked.

Being home today I can cook which needs to happen. Lentil salad probably. Limited cooking there.

Anyway, yesterday I started working on the Carpenter’s Wheel mock up options (click for close-up)

I don’t have much in the way of a beige neutral in my stash to cut up unless a decision is made so I did a true mock up. Below I went for it with the cheddar (with cute little brown stars). That was my original choice so I have the yardage on hand.

I’m going to live with this up on the wall for a few days, wake up to it and see how it feels in the morning then we’ll go from there.

If you don’t like cheddar this is going to make you puke but I’d enjoy hearing your creative thoughts just the same. I was thinking a brown binding whenever we get that far. (ps: Click here for a link to an 1860′s cheddar quilt.)

Now before I leave what do you think about this? I found it on Pinterest and it links back to Pieceful Kwilter here. I totally dig these tri hexagons. Just another nifty thing we can do with Inklingo! I might have to try it.

Thanks for visiting and be pieceful! *karendianne.
