The Fickle Pickle

Happy Tuesday!

I came across the pickle dish photos the other day and decided I REALLY DO like this particular setting/fabric combination after all.  Maybe I should name this quilt “The Fickle Pickle.”  I can’t wait to tell my friend that she was right and I really do like this and it really does work.  I’d call her right now and tell her but they sleep in.  They’re never awake when I’m awake.  Night Owls. Can’t do anything w/ em!  Can’t live with ‘em – can’t live w/o ‘em.

Too bad I removed the centers when I was having my “moment” of dissatisfaction.  AT LEAST I didn’t throw the centers away.    I’ll just have to put some work in reattaching them.  Shouldn’t be too bad since it’s all continuous stitching.

And just in case you’re bored with the same old business, here’s something new…

A draft setting of the snowballs to get the gist of how it’ll go.  Those are 5″ blocks with that new Ty Pennington fabric line.  There are a lot more fabrics in that line that would be ohhhh so fun but this is what we’re working with.  Watch Karen being restrained!

**{updated.  First draft sounded like I had this happen.  I didn’t personally experience this and the first draft was early morning writing so this is better…}

So I think I’ll leave it at that for now.  Remember to watermark your pictures if they’re important enough or you think about it.  And add a copyright statement on your blog.  People lift photos without asking and while it may not bother you -{ it didn’t ever bother me  } – it sure doesn’t feel nice when a person eventually find out its happening.  You can’t totally stop people from being unkind but maybe they just don’t know they need to ask first.  Plus, I suppose it depends on what they’re copying.  In my case, if they wanted to lift a photo of the dogs… have at it.  But lifting a photo of the something like the AB quilt or even the Indian Paintbrush… well that kinda wouldn’t feel good.  People put lots of work into their quilts and would appreciate at least being asked.  Just sayin’…

Have a sewful day, *karendianne.

I do love the Kaffe centers in your “Fickle Pickle” blocks – great name for the quilt, by the by. I also love the pickled snowballs you've been creating. They are both sweet pickles!
I find it sad that people seem to have no respect for someone else's work – I would always ask someone if I might use something from their blog, whether they had a copyright statement on their blog or not. Maybe they're not aware of what they're doing. You never know.

Mmmm. Lovin' those Ty Pennington fabrics. A perfect treatment for a perfect line of fabrics. Very green and simple and modern…he'd love you for that. ;) (And please remember to mention your friend Darcie-from-ND to him. hehe)

    Green hugs….

I saw in a magazine ad that Ty Pennington was designing some delicious fabric… does that guy ever sleep? Your snowballs are GREAT!! Your Pickle Dish blocks are precise and perfect, pass those pickles please!! :) Well done, Kiddo!

I've seen a few of these in blogland. They're really a nice block – yours is no exception. Nothing wrong with a girl changing her mind!

Love it!!! I just want you to know that I have officially added Pickle Dish to my list of “to do” quilts. I've even started playing around in EQ7. I will be watching, these look fabulous!

Glad you revisited the pickle portion of your creativity–I liked that one from the beginning too! And the snowballs are intense, I like 'em!

A copyright statement is a very good idea. I do watermark my photos already.

Well, you are just all kinds of busy, aren't you! I do like the pickle with the Kaffe in the middle. Just sings, you know? And the snowballs – wow! You are on a roll!

But……don't be too hard on us nightowls. We can't help it. Just wired that way. ;)

Night owl checking in. :-) You know I absolutely love the Fickle Pickle — and I love that name for it! You made me laugh out loud when I read that!
The snowballs look so wonderfully fresh and spring-like. I think they're fabulous.

You got a problem with us nite owls???? Glad you pulled the pickles out again…boy oh boy, those snowballs & the pickles are so not typical “KDL” fabrics. Are you having trouble working with them? The pickles area are about as far away from civil war repros as you can get…..

Yay – you returned to the wild and crazy pickle dish. I love the version with the Kaffe Fassett fabric in the centers. It's stunning.

Well bummer that someone lifted the Alabama Beauty! Try to take it as a compliment, I guess :) “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

    Great fabric on the snowballs.

I really do love the pickle dish blocks both ways. One has a Material Obsessions look and the other a little cleaner, more frigid look.
Sorry your photos are getting lifted. I understand where you're coming from. It would be nice for people to ask!
