First there’s a Greeting!
Greetings from LeeHaven! I’m about to asking a little leeway and forgiveness for not being my usual blogging self. Friendly and visiting your cyber-home to see what’s going on. I have visited and I do see what’s going on. I’ve checked to ensure no one is in need of anything, nothing has occurred that requires love and support and then I’ve gone ahead with my morning routine which you’ll not find of interest.
Actually this entire post may not be of interest. I can’t tell. I had something in mind but I have to be out the door for IV day so this is really like a “timed” writing under pressure. When I have something it mind it takes a little too much time to tamp down my inner censor and critique. Here we’re just really throwing it on the page and hoping the for the best… and thinking thankful for photos.
Second, there’s some piecing!
Piecing Cheddar Cheese and Crackers is a blast. Turns out I have enough of this particular cheddar in my stash for the entire doll quilt project. In case you’re wondering, I listed to classical music while piecing.
Another note I wanted to share. Kim of Magnolia Bay Quilts had a great post that got me cutting strips. Cheddar and as close to a Turkey Red as I can get. No pictures yet but I think that’s something to watch for. So I share this statement and admit that OMG yes I did start another baby but I also sent off a quilt to the quilter!
And of course a post Wrap -Up
I kinda like these when I can pull ‘em off.
Y’all had some great comments to share on the topic of music and fabric from the last post. Wanda works in silence as does my friend Susan. I’ve done that but it’s rare and abnormal for me I’d have to say. Sue had a delightful story from her days working in a quilt shop too lengthy to share here but made me smile and I learned that my dear friend Liz likes Jazz! Kathie listens to Classical so she’s my mostly soulmate and Andrea digs Bob Marley and I dig that. Just imagining our great and talented Andrea listening to Bob Marley makes my imagination light up and think “I want to meet Andrea in person!” Paula talked about the right and left side of the brain which really got me thinking and that’s something I love about Paula. How she thinks and contributes her comments. I learn! Then of course I got to see this most cosmic of links provide by Kay. Another blogger spoke of Music and Fabric/Art Quilting at this link. She said it better than I ever could have. I learned that Cathi listens to Vivaldi as do I and Janet – well I loved her comment but I’m going to stop here… check out the comments in yesterdays post if your interested.
Then there’s Life at LeeHaven
- Time for the family to rally around one another as family does when things w/in the tribe need healing and love.
- Getting the front of the house fixed. Contractors.
- Bathroom terlet leaking all of a sudden. Not using that one right now. Plumbers but not now.
- Dropped a coffee cup, made a huge mess at the worse time. Never knew coffee could fly like that!
- Sudden, unplanned monthly expense puts trip for Daphanie off for a good 6 months.
- Meeting new Pet Sitter tomorrow as I would like to leave LeeHaven someday – gee wiz!
Whew, 20 minutes and we’re done. I’m not going to re-read this which was the same line I fed someone last night in an email. Sorry but I’m just on the go right now and… well by the way, it sure is nice to feel healthy enough with the MS to be on the go. If you’re still here and reading and all that, thanks!
Warmly and with a sort of commitment to you that I fear you can’t sense right now because I haven’t been over for cookies and milk in a while. I know…

I know you are up to the challenges! I know you will enjoy a time away, but as you know, it will always be great to return home.
That was a lot said in 20 minutes. Sounds like you've got a few challenges — good luck with all of them and esp. the Pet Sitter because who doesn't want to travel??
Lots going on at Leehaven! Good thing I wasn't there for the coffee because I think I would cry over spilled coffee. I feel your pain with the repairs. OY! We had enough of that last year! Repairs and new appliances are so last year! Good thing is you are quilting up a storm (or a supermarket with all those cheese and crackers)!
The Cheddar & Cheese looks very interesting…….as for homes falling apart….I'm in that club…every time I turn around..something is broken or out of whack….go figure.
Take care.
Hope all goes well with the treatment. Sorry about the coffee. Spills never happen at a good time. Don't they know we have better things to do?
Crackers and cheese – one of my favorite foods, and that quilt is making me hungry. LOVE it!
You certainly have had your hands full lately! Sounds kind of like my life, but as you say, it feels great to be 'on the go'. I heartily agree! I'm hoping all went well with the IV, and you're feeling pretty darn good today.
Sending good health and happiness your way…….
Stopping by to say hello to you. I'm always glad to read your posts and see what's going on in your corner of the world. I hope you're having a good day today.
Were you hungry when you wrote this post? Crackers, cheese, cookies, milk? Just asking (giggle). Glad you're OK and quilting up a storm from the sound of it. Sorry you won't be able to make your trip just yet, but it'll happen when the time is right.
Your 20 minutes sure does generate a lot of information! Great post!
Wow, 20 minutes flat and a wonderful post to boot. But then, your posts always are. I wish I had your energy today!!! I just stopped in to say 'HEY' and let you know I was thinking of you. I am sorry to hear that unplanned expenses have put back your trip but honestly, isn't that the way it always happens? Get a tax return…car breaks down. A bonus from work…appliance repairman or plumber needed. Never fails. Of course, neither my hubby nor I work anymore so unplanned expenses come out of years of planned savings, **sigh**. Ah well, on to a bit of the fun stuff before I go. The Cheddar Cheese and Crackers is looking wonderful and I can't wait to see what the strips you are cutting are for. You had to dangle that carrot didn't you, LOL. Anyway, I don't have anything profound or wonderful to say tonight but I do hope you are well and fine and frog hair. Gentle Hugs. By the way I also did not proof read this so forgive any glaring errors.
You are so full of energy today! I'm worn out just reading your post and visiting all the great links. Cheese & crackers is looking good. Love the cheddar you chose. Hope the IV did it's thing today and you stay up and running. Hugs from stormy Ca.
Hey girlie girl! I love your crackers and cheese…much more professionally done than mine, LOL! I had real problems with the color placement, so some mistakes were made…and left! Hope you are OK, I know that IV time is stressful. Hugs
Wow, only 20 minutes and I am worn out. Love your enegy!
Life at LeeHaven is all go go go today! If you visit here you won't get cookies and milk, you will get lamingtons and coffee – or beer – while you join me in listening to my collection of music from the middle ages up to today.
I'm loving this quilt. It is fun to see the progress.
That is going to be a cute quilt!
Hope the IV went well. Sorry for all of life's little surprises! Hope the 'terlet' is an easy fix.
Things look and sound good – glad you can be doing stuff. Enjoy!!!
Looks like your Cheddar and cheese is coming along nicely. I like the chedda rprint you chose. Good to hear you will have enough to finish this little cutie. :0)
…on the go … milk and cookies/crackers and cheese… thinking of you … feeling good enough … you hit ALL the high points in your 20 minutes or less!
Happy to know you are doing!
Houses can sure keep us busy…almost like having another pet around! Missed your “what I listen to post” – I am a news geek so it is in the background pretty much all the time (CNN, FOX, NPR…any and all….)
Wow my Friend, for just 20 minutes you sure covered a lot of ground here. It took me way longer than 20 minutes to check out all the good links you posted…..so much goodness, some great new blogs for me to add to my list…..wishing you well today.
I just heard cookies and milk. Crackers and cheese too. You are hitting all my numbers. Ha! Be well.
Hi Hun! Glad to hear you are hangin in there! Leaking toilet? Oh my dear! Stuff a parrot down it! (sorry – shame on me!)
)
Lucky you if you've got more than one (toilet that is!). Us lowly ole Brits are often 'challenged' in that area. (I'm just being silly now – result of a pre-dinner glass of Vino Callapso!)
Hugs, Lynda
Yes, I missed you. But you were on Facebook, so I knew you were hanging in there. Good luck. I'll be thinking of you.
