Oh I know, this is too many posts but I have to share this. Check out my mitered border with the strips. It all fell into place just like y’all said it would. Now, I have 3 more corners to go but shucks – is this great or what? This is a gift quilt and it’ll be shipped off to the quilter soon I think.
Cabin Tracks is soon to follow and that quilt goes into Darcie’s hands! Cabin Tracks will NOT have the snazzy mitered borders.
It’s going to be hard to let go of the snazzy mitered borders but it’s going to a very special place so it’ll be ok.
Oh I have to take a nap. I’m a tired person…

oh no – I clicked on your label “mitered borders” and the only post that came up was this one
can you point me in the direction I need to go to find out more about how you did it???
thanks.
Bonnie
oh Yeaaa! I found it! See… today I was blog hoppin and found myself at Millie's Quilting blog – and saw her post about when she quilted this quilt for you – beautiful by the way!
and she mentioned your perfect mitered borders… and also ThANKgOOdnesS shared your blog addy…
so I came searching – I see from here you have a label for “mitered borders” so I'm off in high hopes to find out more about how to and tips. I have never done it before but currently working on a quilt that is just begging for them to be added when I get to that part.
My 3 borders are different sizes – I hope that doesn't make things harder….? or does it matter?
I'm so glad I found your blog!
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
I still have not dared to try mitered corners.
Your chedder blocks are fab!
Work from home India
I tried Miter corners years ago, without much luck, maybe I should give them another go.
Hi Karen Dee
Congrats on a pefect miter corner. You are so good at trying something new and endinup with a gorgous quilt.
Smiles,
Millie
Great job! Isn't it the greatest feeling to see all those little strips come together so well? And good job with Cabin Tracks too.
Holy Cow – those miters are fabulous, Karen! I was just trying to get my brain to fire on remembering how to make them the other day – the firing didn't work however! I should have been paying attention here!
Cheers!
You are the bravest of warriors. Don Miquel Ruiz says the warrior must live a life of impeccability. You not only strive, you succeed!
Yikes …. you did a fantastic job!
) I remember being urged by some fellow quilters to try mitered borders and the feeling was pure elation when I accomplished the task. Your photo says it all ….
Yowzers…that is one smooth miter! You really make it look much too easy, you know. Great work, kiddo!
Really?! Cabin Tracks?! It's for me?! lol I know I know. Work first. Seriously though…I cannot wait to see it in-the-fiber!
Today feels like a nap day here too. It's snowing…and as my Mom would say “snowing to beat the band.” Wonder what that means, really? What band would try to race a ND snow storm/blizzard anyway?
Of course, my daughters so wanted there to be no school today. Funny really. Three days ago they couldn't wait until Christmas Break was over so they'd have something to do again. lol Funny creatures, we are.
White out hugs….
Having just tackled mitered corners meself, I must say I am TOTALLY impressed with the perfection of yours. That corner is gorgeous! I can't wait to see that quilt finished – it looks to be a real beauty!
Hope naptime was rejuvenating for you, yesterday and every day!
OMG perfect mitred corners!!! Now you can do ANYTHING!! Love the fabric too Karen xx

(PS Co-worker stranded in Spanish Airport due to unusual amount of snow falling in UK…. will I never be free?!!!!!)
Great job Karen!…love those fabrics..

Love the mitered corners – you did so well. I'm sure it will be greatly loved.
Happy napping – I have a day to myself, just might get in bed and nap too – if I don't nap in the big soft chair.
Did you know we are each born with a certain amount of mitred corners in us, so they must be saved for really special quilts and not frittered away on anything unworthy? I can tell this is very special.
I can feel your delight and happiness from here! Way to go!
You rule! No fear of fabric in Florida….go get your well deserved rest!
Congratulations — they look fabulous!!
Great miters – perfection!
Looks good!! Just three to go and with the first looking so good…no worries!
Great job! Did you use a ruler????
I can barely find the seam!! Great job. I'm kind of miterphobic myself…..
Mitres rule!
Love the picture of you on the sidebar! You are adorable!
*Standing Ovation* Congrats!!! Bravo!!! Looks great!
Yep, I clicked that photo to get a closer look at your miter. Well done! Have a good rest up before tackling each of the other three and they'll all turn out that well.
Miters are not easy , but yours looks great. If you do one a day you will have it done by the weekend.
Very nice!!
Oh you are braver than I am. I still have not dared to try mitered corners.
Your chedder blocks are fab!
I know, I know!! And I'm SO excited for you and your quilt…
With all the quilts I've done, I've yet to tackle a mitered border.
