Right on, you made it! How’s your stomach? Mines not really interested in food but I’m sticking with the routine – a little bit of canned fruit and some coffee. I’m askeered to try my jeans on. Are you going out today, doing any shopping on-line, resting, cooking, quilting, what ARE you doing? Inquiring minds want to know!
This girl has an afghan pattern she wants to do so the yarn store would be fun but I’ve had a lot of stress lately so my legs are shot and I wont be going any-darn-where!
You’re here though, you made it. So that’s cool and in the *karendianne way please allow me a moment to acknowledge that. I’m grateful you’re here because without you – it wouldn’t be the same. It would be sorta lonely even though I freely admit to imagining friends landing here, passing by without comment. I make assumptions. Careful there. You know what they say about assumptions.
My Cheddar blocks are seriously addictive so I put them away last night. They’re 7.5″ unfinished. I’ve made 17 [in recent days]. I was under a lot of emotional duress. The realm was under attack. Minding our own business. Happens that way.

Then I woke this morning with a new plan so I guess they’ll come back out after I get another row put together on Cabin Tracks. We’ll see how my legs hold up. These legs haven’t exactly been wanting to play the past few days. I know how to work around that; wont be too much trouble.
Again, I would like to hear what you’re doing today, this Black Friday! Any shopping planned, cooking, quilting, decorating!? And if you have any ideas how to set these Cheddar blocks I’d be interested. I did have an idea last night but it was just before bed, I didn’t write it down and I lost it! Naturally it was a great idea.
Happy day after Thanksgiving! *karendianne. who is grateful and thankful for YOU!~

I had a house full of people, and did not even get on computer for several days! Just now back and catching up. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
No shopping for me. When I spend Thanksgiving in Mich. with the family then I get dragged along shopping at 5AM and all that. Spent the day sewing a little but with my BF Steve and his 15-yr-old son here we have spent a lot of time watching movies.
Doncha hate when that happens?! The lost idea, I mean. Ugh…freaks me out. Hope you find it!
We did a whole lot of nothing yesterday. Kids and their friends flying in and out of here like they own the place and I'm just the maid. lol Which is mostly true.
Hope you get to do some crocheting and yarn therapy soon! Think I may do a little of that today. Diesel McWeasel is with his Mistress…so no yarn thief underfoot.
The legs. They'd better start behavin'!
Kicka$$ hugs.
I love Cabin Tracks! The cheddar project is going to be awesome. I am going to blog a bit and then sew airplanes. Karmen
Happy (2 days after) Turkey Day! I don't do the Black Friday routine, so I spent the day sewing….and NOT eating (so much, that is!)!! We still have turkey, which I am making into yummy samwiches.
I'm lovin' the Cabin Tracks and the sweet cheddar blocks – lookin' good, my friend! I hope you are de-stressing more and more every day, and your legs are feeling better.
I hope your weekend is a peaceful one.
No shopping for me, I spent the day quilting. I just love the Cabin Tracks quilt — it's going to be gorgeous!
Hope those legs of yours improve soon.
Recovering slowly here, today – glad I did NOT cook dinner, but still have our host's leftovers!
I am grateful that I still remember how to make some really GOOOOOD yeast rolls! There were even enough left over to bring to our hosts, which was the plan in the first place!
And like you, I am grateful for all of you, all the bloggers, and special notes amoung us. 8-)))
Well…I'm just about ready to climb back in bed and it is 7pm. Normally I wouldn't even consider going out Black Friday am but for whatever reason my internal clock woke me at 4am. My DH usually goes out shopping on his own early Black Friday because he loves to score a great deal. Not like we need more electronics, you know?! This morning at 4am I quietly asked if he was ready to get up and so you have it. Off we went like a bunch of the other crazy folks! It was an insane day. However, I am done with the majority of my shopping. My hubby tells me as we are half way down the road he would have been fine going later in the day for “the scraps.” That just cracked me up! No quilting here today or tomorrow as all are home….perhaps Sunday I can get back to my gift makings!!
I am not a Black Friday shopper, although it has happened twice in the past. See? I can count the times on one hand. Though yesterday, I thought I would have to go out today. *shudder* I was knitting away and the cable on the circular knitting needle separated from the bamboo. *frown* These are new needles and I was only halfway through the first sock! There are 3 LYS and I was planning on shopping them today to get a needle to finish these socks when I remembered that a GF always uses the size that I using. After a frantic voice mail she called back and saved me! I did go over to her house today, which entailed getting dress but there is joy in Mudville tonigh! Friends are the best.
Love the cheddar blocks!
Today was a road-trip back to Georgia day…yikes. I am too tired to cook dinner and am regretting not accepting leftovers from the in-laws this morning – what was I thinking?
Love how the cabin is coming along…
I love the Cabin Tracks quilt you are making… send it my way when you are finished. You don't even have to quilt it! I can take care of that,, oh, I have backing and batting too! So, see, just the top is all I need,, VBG!
Went shopping this am, not too early, to get flannel for quilt backs for kids quilts, then came straight home. It really wasn't as crazy as I thought it might be.
Take care of yourself — and I'll be watching the mail for that quilt top!

Hey lady, nice going on the cheddar blocks and the Cabin Tracks. I can see how you couldn't stop working on both! Today I'm gonna keep recovering from a bad cold that kept me from Thanksgiving with my family, I'm gonna do some paying work on the computer, then I'm heading into my sewing studio to get some swap blocks banged out for mailing ASAP since I waited until I got back from OZ to do them. Rock on!
I hate to shop on black Friday but I've come up with a genius way to get my shopping done. My son and DIL and 2 grandsons slept over last night and got up at 3:00am to go shopping. DH an I were the designated babysitters-a lot easier than shopping. My DIL asked me last night if I wanted her to do any shopping for me and as a matter of fact, yes she could! She got a lot of my shopping done for me. I love her!
i'm working today!!
The weather is so WINDY…Icey and a little snow….we had to close the top part of the park….What Fun!!
Enjoy….LindaMay
I love how the cabin track are turing out. I like the green you are using as the cornerstones.
Today is a catch up day – and a Ben day – and an eat turkey sandwich day. Wonderful day.
Girl we are 100% Christmas Tree today. No shopping here. Eating leftovers courtesy of Mom and Nakia and trying to, gasp, clean the room the Christmas tree will be in. I'm sure the floor will be covered with Fischer Price before the day is done.
I'm really enjoying that cheddar work you're doing there and Cabin Tracks looks good too, time consuming. Those are some little pieces.
I love that bottom right area on the sashing. Where the hexagon looking shape was interrupted by the gold. Added visual interest.
Happy belated Turkey Day!
Hi Karen, Today I went shopping for party clothes, looked really awful in everything I tried on. Are mirrors in clothes shops designed to make you look terrible? I came home with one birthday card and a bottle of red wine! Bah!
Tomorrow we are going by train to Leeds where there is a German Christmas Market going on. We are meeting up with Tim and family who are there for the weekend. DH & I just going for the day. I'm hoping to take some pics, if it turns out well. The weather forcast is for sleet (i.e. snow and rain mixed).
Love and hugs, Lynda
mornin' — I do have an idea about the cheddar blocks but I need to get home to look something up first…on the Dad front, things aren't spinning quite as much – thankfully.
Sewing my tissue cozies (shhhh, the two boys–men, really–are still asleep) and enjoying TWO WHOLE EXTRA DAYS! with my Big Man. Woo hoo!
I'm here little cuz!!!!!
First, I love your blog look! What a great background!! (Like, where did you get it?)
And, today… definitely recovering… Kids and I are going to go see New Moon later today.. other than that… low low profile.
Holy Toledo… I woke at 3am still 'hurtin'. I was fine from our meal (which was here) until we came home late (went to a friends bonfire) and both Dick and I scarfed down 2 pieces of pie… ack!
