What Father Does Best

Contributes to my well-being by strengthening my sense of groundedness. Even 3k miles away.

How does he do that? He shows up. We connect, we talk, we e-mail. It’s not hard. It’s not perfect either – he sure can set me on fire!!! But it’s Father’s Day. A day to celebrate the fact that I do have a dad that’s willing to share his wisdom and plant it in my head! And that’s a gift ’cause what if your Dad didn’t want to share?

So I’ll say thanks and Happy Father’s Day, Dad.

  1. Oh my gosh, you were adorable! It looks like you got some of your twinkle from your dad. You hit the nail right on the head (to use a dadism). It doesn't matter how far apart you are. The important thing is connecting when you have the chance. My dad is fading mentally and the connections we make are priceless!

  2. What a little doll you were/are. Dad is a a hottie too. Looks to be about my era… Look at your little knees. My gosh you were a sweet heart.

  3. That's an amazing photo! Father's Day is always bittersweet for me. I'm happy my daughter has something I didn't have, as long as a Dad tries it means something.

  4. There are too many dads in this world that don't take the time to share or even attempt to teach. Nice picture of you and your dad and wonderful sentiment you have shared with us all.

  5. What a sweet picture! And what a darling you were…and still are! That whispy dark hair and warm, glowing eyes. Sweet.

And now I say this as a total and sincere compliment. Does the sofa you were sitting upon (what…like a decade ago?) ;-) remind you just faintly of a new one you that you might presently be enjoying? Timeless colors.

    Time for hugs….
