Out and About

Had an outing. My first in a while. ;) Lunch out, quilty things and crafty things. Lisa teaches at the Quilt Shop and lately she’s creating the clothesline fabric wrapped baskets and artistic plates with Bali Pops (note: using “It’s a Wrap” method). I just have to share this plate with you. I didn’t ask but I’ll beg for forgiveness later. It’s got me all distracted. I love this plate. The button is actually an antique.

We came back to LeeHaven & I showed Lisa my nicely folded stash. Together over time, we’ve built my Civil War Stash, which is to say my entire stash. Except for my current dainty antique looking (to me) fabric.

It’s my current project, my restful sewing. I’m still not up for real piecing. I’m good but not that ready. I wasn’t ready to share this because it’s just blocks. I guess after I got over my “whatever” I decided I could share with ya’ll.

Looking at it this morning I see something I haven’t noticed before. Hmmm. Something to consider. That’s cool!

I’m mindless sewing here and just enjoying the process. “She Sits and Sews” pretty much.
It’s hot. I had an outing. It was a great day.

  1. What a grand day!!! You deserved it and many more!

And no quilt of yours is ever *just blocks.* It's all good stuff!!! ;-)

    Good hugs….

  2. Hooray for a fun 'out and about'!! That plate is gorgeous! I love what's on your design wall, too – it's light and refreshing.

  3. Karen, I'm so glad you had a nice outing. I love the plate pic you posted here, wonderful colors!
    Hugs, Karen L.

  4. So glad you were up to a day out, and it sounds like it was a great one. I love the colours of the quilt on your design wall.

  5. I am SO glad you had the day out!! That plate is fantastic — and with Bali pops?? What a treat!
I love the dainty sewing. That is going to be a marvelously pretty quilt — it's absolutely gorgeous!

  6. A day out and sharing!Glad you had a good day…
Just to sit and sew is good Karen, I hope you have many more days like that..

  7. Glad you were able to get out. Lunch with a friend is a good thing! I love your sit and sew blocks. I had to enlarge it to see that it is 9-patch on point. I think I could handle that! It looks much more complicated! I went out today too. Got my hair cut! And tonight I am picking up my (hopefully) repaired sewing machine. Then I'll join you in the 'she sits, she sews'.

  8. I'm so glad you were feeling well enough to have a day out.
Your dainty is so pretty, I have days I like to just mindlessly sew too.
The plate is so pretty, I took a class to learn how to make those wonderful bowls from the book It's a Wrap & I just can't stop making them. I love to see what different fabrics look like when the are coiled. I made some small bowls using fabric with gold metalic & they turned out so pretty.
    Have a good weekend.

  9. So glad to hear you got out and about. I was playing tourist in Seattle yesterday in 92 heat. Would you take your weather back, please?!?!

So glad you shared your simple little blocks, they're very pieceful. And that plate, oh my. Those are definitely my colors. I keep eyeing those Bali pops. NOW I know what to do with them!

  10. A day out and sharing! Thanks for that, Karen – love that colour combo, though I'm not a mauve/purple person – something so gentle about it! Love it!
    Hugs – Lurline♥
