This is what I’m working on right now. It’s called “A House Divided” from Bonnie Blue. Their version is Blues & Purples. Mine is Blues, Browns and Pinks.
136 Hourglass blocks. Watch me as I lose attention. No, don’t bother. That’s how we all multi-task.

I decided to cut a few sashing strips to see if I was going to light up over this or wilt. 136 Hourglass blocks and a girl can start to droop.

Of course after seeing the fabrics all together and up close I started to get that warm, dreamy feeling of prettie! Good thing because there are serious challenges in the sashing. Line it all up is one of the keys to the kingdom with this quilt. Not to mention seriously good pressing, careful marking and slow, gentle sewing. And pins, pins, pins. Plus patience.

Well it may be challenging but it’s going to be gorgeous when you finish!
Wow, another great one. You amaze me where do you get the energy from?
Love your color choice very very much!
Looks like another stunning quilt! I love your new banner. Seasons Greetings to U too! xxx
Really pretty quilt! Is this the one that has captured your attention? I can see why! Love it!!
The move from kitchen to Library looks good. Nice, warm colors in there! Separate rooms for separate functions. right?Love, Aunt Alice
Wow, that is really beautiful, Karen! How big are the hourglass blocks?
I actually like making hour glass blocks. I am about to start on my grandson’s “big boy room” quilt and I will have hour glass blocks in there somewhere.
You are so right about the pinning. I usually use cornerstones when I sash simply to avoid all that pinning! But it is SO worthwhile. Keep us posted, GF!BTW, the word verification is, I kid you not, SHEOL.
A great start to what will no doubt be a beautiful finish. Great color combination and I love the blocks. I have no doubt that you are u for the challenge of this quilt. That quilting bug has you by the butt girl. Great job as always. Hugs,Anett
I find patience to be the main thing I must have when putting any quilt together. Pins don’t hurt either! If I stab myself a few times when pinning, I know my quilt will turn out well. The pink brings the quilt to life – I love it!
Love the colors. And it’s already looking as straight as straight could be! Way to go!
Whoa Nellie. That is going to be Some Quilt. One step at a time and it will all come together. Very pretty.
Aha – patience – you have much more of that than I do – so I will sit back and watch this one develop! It’s going to be gorgeous!Ru
What a wonderful quilt! You may convert me to a Civil War Reproduction fan yet. In fact, at guild the other night someone said she didn’t like that kind of thing, and I commented that I was beginning to. Keep up the good work.
Your quilt is going to be BEAUTIFUL!! I just love your fabric choices. I’m thinking this should be the new pattern cover!
Your fabric choices are going to make this a quilt to die for!
This is beautiful. If I come over, will you teach me? You are so good.
That is going to be BEAUTIFUL!
Step by step… it will be gorgeous. I like the pink sashing better than the white.
Hello gorgeous!Oh my… those itty bitty hour glasses are killing my old lady eyeballs! man…. you are one patient woman…
Oooh — I love this!! You can do it!! Just have a no-brainer project to work on when you want to stitch, but also to relax and not pin, pin, pin!!
Very pretty, but I think I’ll leave this one to you!! LOL You’re a go getter, for sure!!
I think the quilting fairy has bitten you hard, Karen! Make sure to come up for air once in a while – whew! Cheers!
Pins and patience are indeed the keys… you nailed it. Why, oh why can’t I remember that? Looks great, kiddo!
Holey moley! Do not (I repeat) do not come crying for mercy halfway through this quilt. Do you hear me? *wink*(Why don’t you coax some of us to make a stack of hourglass blocks for you?)
Good pressing, careful marking and slow gentle sewing? Pins and patience? Well the pins I could probably manage, but the rest……Glad you’re making this thing. I couldn’t handle it! But I think it will look amazing when finished!
