Getting Current

Above – beginning work on sashing. A fairly mindless process.
Boy oh boy life is more fun when it shared!!!

I’d like to take a focused moment to acknowledge further proof of this. Quilting is so much about sharing, I’m learning more and more as time goes by. Your comments about the Civil War Tribute Quilt were absolutely delightful.

I totally dig the stuff you said (commenting or privately) that made me think or the questions that entice me to share more. That sort of feedback is a little exhilarating because it makes me unpack what I’ve learned & really think about it. Another thing I enjoy – your tastes. I absolutely dig 100% seeing what people like. It intrigues me. What you make note of and what catches your eye teaches me a lot. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Behind, behind, behind. Behind the eight-ball. Behind the curtain with the candlestick, in the library – Mrs. Plum. Behind the milk in the back of the fridge (because everything is behind the milk/juice). Behind the scenes – the power brokers. Behind bars. Behind closed doors. Falling behind. Behind. I’m just behind. I have emails to reply to and other things to Blog but the week was draining and I had nothing in me when it came to writing. I hope you’ll allow me some leeway as I begin to catch up.

  1. What pretty blocks! Love your reproduction fabrics. We are all behind, I am convinced that if we are caught up, we are 6 feet under…I make lists, too, it helps the feeling of accomplishment when I actually can cross something off!

  2. I liked all your “behind” comments. The one about Mrs. Plum reminded me of all the fun times I had playing Clue as a kid. My dad showed me how to keep track a unique way that made it easy to win.

  3. Your blocks look wonderful! And I love the sashing you have chosen for them! Take your time, don’t worry about being behind on some things :o )

  4. Good to see you back to work on the 7 sisters. We are only behind when we believe we are behind. You may very well have completed everything that needed to be completed in it’s own time.Sit back and take the time to reflect and refuel.Ru

  5. Your blocks really look fabulous with the sashing — I love the richness of them. You take as long as you need to catch up on whatever! Maybe a really relaxing, laid-back weekend would help?

  6. Saturdays were made for coffee on the porch, enjoying the sunshine (as long as it’s not too hot!) and taking some time to reflect. Don’t worry about what isn’t done, it will all be there tomorrow! LOL
